Spektr-R began to orbit around the Earth
The Russian scientists said Spektr-R telescope launched from launchers in Kazakhstan earlier this week and shortly after that began flying in orbit around Earth.

The Spektr-R makers say the telescope is designed to look back in time billions of light years.

Vladimir Bobyshkin scientist in charge of this project that we on Earth know only a fraction of what's around the planet and the Sun. "It sounds like science fiction, but I can not believe we are the only organisms present in space," he said.

He said Bobyshkin telescope images sent back will definitely extend the limits of human understanding and start a revolution in astrophysics when phenomena like black holes and the dark matter can be observed.

Scientists hope to publish the first picture at the end of this year.
